The Colorado State Patrol has closed eastbound I70 as they investigate crash in which a vehicle struck a pedestrian. CSP advised that there is currently no ETA on when the highway will re-open and drivers are strongly encouraged to take alternate routes.
This is the second time this week that this area of I-70 has been closed. On Tuesday, the Wheat Ridge Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and CSP were all in the area and closed the highway. That incident was in reference to an individual possibly threatening to jump from the pedestrian bridge. Read more about that story here.
Update @ 4:55PM: CSP has cleared the scene and all lanes are now open.
