The First Judicial District announced yesterday that 53-year-old Clinton Priest was formally charged for the stabbing incident which left one person dead on September 23rd. According to officials, officers with the Wheat Ridge Police Department were sent to Priest’s residence after receiving a call from Priest’s son. Priest’s son reported his father had just got home from a bar and had blood on his clothing and body.
Shortly after receiving this call, police were also dispatched to the Rambling Rose. The Rambling Rose is a bar located at 10080 W. 44th Avenue in Wheat Ridge. Once officers arrived on scene at the Rambling Rose, they located 32-year-old Robert Miller. Miller was located in the parking lot and was bleeding from multiple stab wounds. Miller was transported to a local hospital but died a short time later.
On Thursday, Priest was advised of the charges against him, which include:
- Second Degree Murder
- Possession of a Weapon by Previous Offender
- Crime of Violence Sentence Enhancers
Priest remains in custody at the Jefferson County Jail on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on October 21st.
