Police issue shelter in place order, following shots fired

There is currently a large police presence in the area of 58th Street and Kipling as the Arvada Police Department and other agencies search for suspects, following shots fired in the area of 64th and Miller. At approximately 9:30PM, the Arvada Police Department provided the following update.

“APD currenting searching for a 5’5” white male, 150lbs, 30 year of age, brown eyes/hair, last seen in the 5900 block of Johnson Way. He is considered armed and dangerous. Shots were fired at our officers, no officers were injured, and we did not return fire”

Update @ 10:42PM: The Arvada Police Department, assisted by other agencies, are still in the area and are utilizing K-9s, to continue to search for the suspect.

Update @ 2:05AM: After thoroughly searching the area, the Arvada Police Department has lifted the shelter in place order. The suspect was not located but APD advised they believe he has left the area and there is no longer an active threat to the community.
